Important Message about Promotional Standards for Shufu Spring Promotional on April 7th
February 13, 2019
from Miki Takemori, Chair of the Shufu Board of Examiners
To Shufu Yudanshakai Clubs, Sensei and Judoka:
I am writing to update you on the process that is happening with the USJF Promotional Standards.
Just to recap, I am on the Ad Hoc Committee (as a part of the USJF Promotional Committee) that has been tasked with the up-dating the Promotional standards. The Ad Hoc Committee has completed our work and delivered our project via e-mail to the full Promotional Committee last week. We are awaiting feedback from those members.
I expect that there will be some adjustments and I hope there will be a vote from the full USJF Board of Examiners on the at the Spring USJF meetings March 30-31 at the Dulles Homewood Suites, Dulles, VA. This means that the USJF Promotional Standards have not been adjusted.
We will continue to use the Shufu Promotional Standards until the USJF (Board of Examiners and Board of Directors) has approved the National Promotional Standards. As before, I will recommend to the Board of Examiners to exercise discretion and to be flexible when appropriate.
