Competitors and Coaches Clinic with Japanese Team at Georgetown

Take advantage of this incredible opportunity to attend a special competitors and coaches clinic at Georgetown University with a visiting Japanese judo team coached by 8th Dan Mr Hideharu Shirase of Tokai University on Sunday, March 3rd.

14 Men, 5 Women, and 5 coaches will be participating in the tachiwaza, newaza, and randori sessions from 10 AM until 5 PM, with a break for lunch.  There will also be goodwill matches.

 

This event is best for higher level competitive judoka, including advanced juniors and collegians.

There will also be workout sessions with the Japanese team at the Yates Field House from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM on Friday, March 1st and Monday, March 4th (Participants may arrive as early as 7 PM).

 Parking is in the GU garage; there is a small parking fee of 4 or 5 dollars.

USJF ATHLETE-SCHOLAR OF THE YEAR AWARD RULES AND ELIGIBILITY FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-2026

The United States Judo Federation Board of Directors has established the “USJF Athlete-Scholar of the Year
Award.” First prize is $1,000.00, second prize $750.00, and third prize $500.00.

Completed application, supporting documentation, portrait photograph, and SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS (NO report cards) must be received by no@usjf.com and asoy@usjf.com by July 15, 2026

Did you know that Shufu has an Athlete Funding Program?

Shufu’s Athlete Funding
Program provides reimbursement ($150 to $300) for athletes competing in National and
International level events. Juniors, Seniors, Masters/Veterans, and Kata competitors
can all apply to the Shufu Athlete Funding Program. If you have been a member of Shufu for at least 2 years and have participated in any of the events listed below, then you should consider applying for Shufu’s Athlete Funding Program!

 2025 USA Judo Senior National Championships
 2025 USA Judo President’s Cup
 2025 US Open
