Sensei Yonezuka Dies

Sensei Yoshisada Yonezuka passed away yesterday, October 18th, 2014, after a long battle with bone marrow failure.  He was 77.

 

Sensei Yonezuka was a 1960 graduate of Nihon University, and founded the Cranford Judo Club in Cranford, New Jersey in 1962.

 

He taught and trained several US Olympians, including Allen Coage, Michael Swain,  and his own son, Nick Yonezuka.

 

He was a two-time Olympic coach for the US, and three-time World Championships coach.  He was awarded the rank of Kudan (9th degree Black Belt) in 2007.

 

 The Funeral is Tuesday, October 21
