For over 46 years, the YMCA International Judo Camp offers players of all ranks the opportunity to train and practice under the guidance of an impressive roster of Olympic medalists, world champions and university coaches. These dedicated instructors share with participants the concepts of “the gentle way,” teaching in a safe and encouraging manner. Co-directors George Pasiuk and Sylwester Gawel lead a staff of top competitors and instructors from Asia, Europe, Israel, and North and South America, including Heiko Rommelman, (6th Dan) and Jeff Guinta, (5th Dan). Both are 15 time Over-All National Kata Champions, World Master Kata Champions, and Pan Am gold medalists. This year’s special guest instructor is Lynn Roethke, the first American woman to medal in judo at the Olympic Games, winning a silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.
